What Happened to ZYN Apple Mint? 4 Great Alternatives to Try
ZYN Apple Mint has been discontinued and is no longer available on Haypp UK. If you're searching for it and coming up short, here's what happened - and four alternatives worth trying instead.
Key Takeaways
- ZYN Apple Mint Mini has been phased out by Swedish Match as part of a 2026 product range adjustment and will not be restocked.
- It combined a green apple flavour with peppermint and spearmint notes, in a Mini format at 3mg and 6mg.
- The closest ZYN alternative by flavour profile is ZYN Sour Apple, which is a new apple-forward flavour option replacing it in the range.
- ZYN Blueberry Mint and ZYN Watermelon Mint are strong alternatives for users who liked the fruit-mint combination and are wanting to try a different leading fruit
- ZYN Cool Mint Mini is the best match for users who primarily valued the cooling mint element of the Apple Mint flavour in the Mini format and Low to Normal nicotine strength.
What Was ZYN Apple Mint?
ZYN Apple Mint was a fruit-mint nicotine pouch flavour combining a green apple flavour with peppermint and notes of spearmint, available in a Mini format at 3mg (Normal) and 6mg (Strong). The flavour profile sat in its own space within the ZYN snus range - neither a straight mint nor a straight fruit flavoured pouch, but a combination that gave it a distinctly lighter, fruity mint character compared to the more cooling options like ZYN Cool Mint or ZYN Menthol Ice.
The Mini format and lower strength options made it one of the more popular ZYN products for adult nicotine users newer to nicotine pouches, or for those who preferred a compact ZYN pouch with a less cooling flavour profile.
"ZYN Apple Mint Mini at 3mg was my go-to. The apple note kept it from being just another mint pouch and the Mini format sat really well. Not too cooling, not too sweet - just a solid everyday pouch." - Ollie, Pouch Pro tester
Why Has ZYN Apple Mint Been Discontinued?
ZYN, owned by Philip Morris International, phased out four products in 2026 as part of a planned lineup adjustment. ZYN Apple Mint Mini Extra Strong was among the discontinued products, with the company also providing guidance directing users toward alternative ZYN products with similar flavour profiles and strengths
Swedish Match stated that other ZYN products would remain on sale, with the range focusing on its core mint and citrus offerings. The introduction of new flavours (including ZYN Sour Apple, ZYN Blueberry Mint, and ZYN Watermelon Mint) into the range likely contributed to the decision to consolidate and remove older products that overlapped in profile.
Once existing stock sells through, ZYN Apple Mint will not be restocked on Haypp UK.
Who Chose These Alternatives — And Why Trust Them?
The four alternatives below were selected by the Haypp´s Pouch Panel - a team of adult nicotine pouch users who regularly test products across flavour, format, strength, and pouch feel. Each alternative was chosen on one of three criteria: closest flavour match, closest format and strength match, or best option for adult pouch users who want to explore beyond the immediate like-for-like replacement. All products listed are currently available on Haypp UK.
4 Alternatives to ZYN Apple Mint
1. For the Closest Flavour Match - ZYN Sour Apple
The most direct replacement in the ZYN range for Apple Mint is ZYN Sour Apple - a new apple-forward option introduced as part of ZYN's 2026 range refresh. Where Apple Mint paired green apple with peppermint and spearmint, ZYN Sour Apple leans into the apple character more prominently with a tart, citrus-edged profile that sits in the fruit-forward category.
This is the option to try first if the apple flavour was what drew you to ZYN Apple Mint.
Best for: ZYN Apple Mint users who primarily valued the fruit-forward apple character over the mint element.
2. For an Alternative Fruit-Mint Combination - ZYN Blueberry Mint
If what you liked about ZYN Apple Mint was specifically the fruit-mint combination - neither a straight mint nor a straight fruit, but a blend of both - then ZYN Blueberry Mint 11mg is the natural next step. The blueberry note replaces the apple, and the mint element is present as a secondary cooling layer rather than the lead character.
ZYN Blueberry Mint is available as a Slim format at 11mg, which is a step up from the Mini format and lower strengths of Apple Mint, so it is better suited to users already comfortable at Extra Strong rather than those who were using Apple Mint as a lower-strength option.
Best for: ZYN Apple Mint users who valued the fruit-mint blend and are comfortable at Extra Strong strength.
3. For a Different Fruit-Mint Direction - ZYN Watermelon Mint
ZYN Watermelon Mint pouches, including ZYN Watermelon Mint 11mg, follow the same structural logic as Apple Mint — a fruit note paired with a mint element - but takes the flavour in a different direction. The watermelon profile is lighter and sweeter in character than apple, and the mint element is similarly present without dominating.
This is the best option for users who want to stay in the fruit-mint category but are open to exploring beyond apple as the fruit component.
Best for: Users who enjoyed the fruit-mint structure of ZYN Apple Mint and want to try a different fruit profile.
4. For the Mini Format at a Low to Normal Strength - ZYN Cool Mint Mini
For users who primarily valued the Mini format and lower strength of ZYN Apple Mint, rather than the apple flavour specifically, ZYN Cool Mint Mini 3mg is the closest structural match available. It keeps the Mini format and the lower Normal strength, with a peppermint and menthol profile rather than apple-mint.
The flavour is more cooling than Apple Mint at the same strength, so users who found Apple Mint appealing because it was less cooling than other ZYN mint products may need to work through the range to find the right fit - but for format and strength, this is the direct equivalent.
Best for: Users who specifically wanted the Mini format at 3mg and are comfortable with a more traditional mint-menthol profile.
Final Thoughts
ZYN Apple Mint has been discontinued from Haypp UK and will not be restocked. The closest flavour replacement in the current ZYN range is ZYN Sour Apple, which takes the apple character in a slightly sharper, more tart direction. For users who valued the fruit-mint combination specifically, ZYN Blueberry Mint and ZYN Watermelon Mint both offer the same structural approach with different fruit profiles. For users who primarily valued the Mini format at a lower strength, ZYN Cool Mint Mini is the closest match.
