Our Commitment to Accessibility
At Haypp UK, we are committed to creating a shopping experience that is inclusive and accessible to everyone. We view accessibility as a fundamental right and an important part of our digital strategy. Our goal is to ensure that all users, regardless of individual circumstances or assistive technologies, can access our services in a simple and seamless way.
Our Accessibility Work
We work methodically to improve the user experience for all visitors to Haypp UK. Accessibility is part of our development process and is considered already in the planning and design phase. To ensure that our services meet the requirements set out by WCAG 2.2 at level AA, we use both automated and manual tools in regular reviews. We have complemented this with an external review by accessibility experts to evaluate how well our digital solutions work for people with different needs. Our goal is to offer a website that is accessible, usable, and inclusive, regardless of assistive technologies or individual circumstances.
Areas for Improvement
- Semantic Structure. We handle large amounts of text content on Haypp UK and sometimes a consistent semantic structure (e.g. H1, H2, H3) is missing. This can affect both readability and accessibility for users who use assistive technologies. We are actively working to implement a logical and standardised structure for headings and content. We are also reviewing older content to gradually correct other lacking semantic attributes such as lang references for language indications.
- Images and Alternative Text. We use many images to illustrate products and content on Haypp UK. In some cases, descriptive alt texts are missing, which means that users who rely on screen readers do not have access to the information conveyed by the images. We are actively working to ensure that all meaningful images receive correct alternative texts.
- Video. In some cases, subtitles are missing for our videos, which means that users who depend on captions do not have access to the content.
- Keyboard Navigation. We have placed great emphasis on making it possible to navigate Haypp UK using only the keyboard, which is important for users who cannot or do not wish to use a mouse. Most central functions currently work with keyboard control, but some shortcomings remain, for example in filter components.
- Checkout. Some parts of our checkout flow on Haypp UK do not function optimally together with assistive technologies, such as the subscription function. We are actively working to address this.
Feedback
Your experience is important to us, and we always strive to make our services as accessible and user-friendly as possible. If you encounter any accessibility issues, or if you have ideas and suggestions on how we can improve our service, you are very welcome to get in touch.
