The Pouch Panel chose ZYN thanks to the brand’s variety of low strength snus pouches, with several 1.5mg and 3mg snus options. 

Plus, many ZYN pouches (including 4mg pouch strengths and up to 6mg) are available in a mini format, which can be a more comfortable and discreet option for new users.

The panel reported that ZYN flavours were typically well-rounded and consistent, with a focus on more traditional profiles (such as mint and fruit) that new users may prefer. The brand’s dry pouches help to deliver flavour and nicotine more slowly compared to VELO.

The brand’s popularity is visible in the Pouch Report, being the third most purchased brand in 2025 among Haypp customers.

For this category, the Pouch Panel paid attention to nicotine strength, nicotine release, and overall consistency of experience.

White Fox stood out for its emphasis on high-strength pouches, offering 12mg, 14.3mg, and 16mg options. Beyond this, the panel found that all White Fox products had a pronounced initial nicotine sensation (especially White Fox Full Charge).

Comfort also matters at higher strengths. The panel agreed that White Fox snus maintained a comfortable and discreet fit, even the slightly bigger Full Charge pouch (which weighs 1g compared to the standard 0.5-0.6g).

For the flavour category, the panel considered the variety, originality, flavour balance, and longevity on offer from different brands, with XQS being ranked first.

The panel found that XQS was willing to move beyond conventional mint and fruit profiles, with flavours including Cactus Sour, Watermelon Blizz, Cola Lime, and Berrynana Twist.

Beyond variety, XQS stands out in terms of flavour delivery. The panel highlighted that all the pouches they tested maintained a clearly distinguishable flavour throughout use, typically lasting 30-40 minutes.

It was a close call between VELO and Nordic Spirit for the Pouch Panel. Here’s a quick overview of the two brands:
