What Was VELO Watermelon Ice?
VELO Watermelon Ice was a fruit-ice flavour pouch from VELO - combining watermelon and menthol flavour profiles. It was available in two formats: a 6mg Mini and a 10mg Slim, giving users across Normal and Extra Strong strength tiers access to the same flavour.
The watermelon and cooling menthol combination made it a distinctive fruit-ice option in the VELO range. Watermelon as a flavour category has grown significantly in the UK nicotine pouch market - and VELO Watermelon Ice was among the first from a major brand to pair it with a menthol character rather than presenting watermelon as a straight fruit profile.
"Really enjoyable watermelon flavour, and the menthol flavour note works well alongside it. Been using the 10mg Slim regularly. One of the more interesting fruit-ice pouches in the VELO range." - Review from Ollie, a member of our Pouch Panel
Why Has VELO Watermelon Ice Been Discontinued?
VELO Watermelon Ice has been phased out of the Haypp UK range. This type of discontinuation typically reflects a manufacturer decision to consolidate the product catalogue - VELO's range has expanded significantly in recent years, and some individual flavour-strength combinations are retired as new products are introduced.
VELO Watermelon Ice was a mid-tier product in terms of sales within the broader VELO watermelon category; the introduction of Wintry Watermelon at higher strength tiers (14mg and 17mg) likely reduced the commercial case for maintaining a lower-strength watermelon option alongside it.
Once existing stock has sold through, the product does not return.
3 Great Alternatives to VELO Watermelon Ice
If you were a regular VELO Watermelon Ice user, here are three alternatives that cover different aspects of what made it worth using.
1. For the Flavour: VELO Wintry Watermelon 17mg
The closest flavour alternative in the VELO range. VELO Wintry Watermelon keeps the watermelon and menthol flavour combination that made Watermelon Ice popular, but at a higher strength (17mg Ultra Strong) in a Slim format. The flavour profile is similar in character - watermelon with a cooling menthol finish - though the higher nicotine level means it is positioned at Ultra Strong rather than the Normal and Extra Strong tiers that Watermelon Ice covered.
Best for: VELO Watermelon Ice users who preferred the watermelon-menthol flavour combination and are already using products at higher strength levels.
Available at: 10mg, 14mg and 17mg Slim
2. For the Format and Strength: VELO Cherry Ice Mini 6mg
For users who specifically valued the Mini format and 6mg Normal strength of VELO Watermelon Ice Mini, VELO Cherry Ice Mini 6mg is a practical alternative. It's a fruit-ice profile, cherry and cooling menthol, in the same Mini format at the same strength. The fruit is different, but the format, strength tier, and flavour category are the closest available match within the current VELO range.
Best for: Users who relied on the Mini format at Normal strength and want to stay in the fruit-ice flavour category.
Available at: 6mg Mini
3. For Something Different: Explore the Full Watermelon Range
VELO isn't the only brand with a watermelon nicotine pouch. The watermelon snus and nicotine pouch range on Haypp covers watermelon options from multiple brands across different strengths and formats; including drier and moister pouch textures, and options where the watermelon profile is more prominent than the cooling element.
Best for: Users who want to find a watermelon flavour that suits their preference across different brands, formats, and strengths.
Final Thoughts
VELO Watermelon Ice has been discontinued from Haypp UK and will not be restocked. The closest flavour replacement within the VELO range is VELO Wintry Watermelon - the same watermelon and menthol profile at a higher strength. For users who valued the Mini format at 6mg, VELO Cherry Ice Mini 6mg is the closest match in terms of format and strength category.
